If they like Toy Story they will love this game

Our daughter, 3, absolutely loves this game. She got it for Christmas about two months before her 3rd birthday and had no trouble using it. We purchased the system because there was a Toy Story Game available since it is her favorite Disney movie. Some of the other reviews talk about the simplistic graphics, but I actually think that is a good thing for the younger kids. It is a simple game that is easy for toddlers to grasp. A great introduction to video games and has educational value as well.
Gift for 5 year old that loves Toy Story

This was a good idea as a gift for my five year old because he tends to dislike "educational" stuff but because it was Toy Story he really got into it. Really good for someone learning beginning numbers and fractions.
Fun, Entertaining, and Educational

My 3yo loves her clickstart computer and this is one of her favorite games. When you enter the game's menu you have the choice between 3 characters. Then you have to choose between 3 locations: Andy's house, the street, or the pizza place. All the locations are the same thing with different scenery. A number will be displayed at the top of the screen and, using arrow keys, the player will have to touch that number...which will release "aliens". Then the player has to "collect" those aliens. If the player runs into a wrong number then the game will say something like "that is the number 7, you are looking for the number 5" (this is in level 1). So the player learns numbers.

This game is great because the player can jump on furniture and use special tools (paperclip, bouncy box, etc) to get launched into the air. Plus it teaches numbers and collecting the aliens is fun.

It is a disappointment because all the other game cartridges offer 3 different games...this one offers the same game with choice of 3 characters and 3 different scenes.

Should you buy it...yes. For the simple fact that kids love it and it is educational. But could the writers have done a better job with the game selection...absolutely.
My son loves it

My son loves it. He is a Toy Story fan, so I was sure that he was going to love it. He plays it a lot. The only issue for a 3-year old kid is that it is kind of difficult to play certain stages of the game with the mouse, but I am sure the older he will get, the easier to play it will become for him.
We like it!

This was purchased for my daughter when she turned 4 yrs old. She is now 5 yrs old & still loves this game. This is our only ClickStart cartridge, so she does seem to enjoy it more than the included games. As far as the graphics, they are not bad. They are not the best, but neither are any of the other graphics from these preschool "video game" type toys. We have the VSmile & the graphics to this game are FAR superior to those... so it does not bother me at all... and they don't seem to bother my daughter in the slightest bit. You can't compare a preschool toy to a major video game like Wii, Playstation, or XBox... they are just not in the same category. For it's category, it's fine.

As far as the game itself, it's more like a "video" game than the included games for ClickStart... the whole moving the guy forward & jumping up & down to collect points from various things. But it does require math to move on, so it's not too bad in Mommy's eyes. The biggest problem we have with this game is the same thing we have will ALL her TV games (all of ClickStart & the VSmile)... our HDTV randomly changes the screen view from normal to stretch & then you can't see the math problem at the top of the screen to continue. My daughter either gets frustrated & mad or just ignores it, which makes her guess at the answer & then Mommy gets annoyed b/c I know there's no learning going on... the result is that we just turn the TV off & then back on, which usually still keeps the game at the same point (but not always). I believe that's our TV though, b/c we didn't have that issue when we had the old (non-HD) TV.
