It does what it needs to do; it covers your pool

| I've read all the criticism of the Intex pool covers. Most cite the small holes on the pool cover as a big, big problem. Others cite the inability to pull the cover tautly over the pool. Neither criticism is warranted. Having a few small holes on the pool cover does permit some water to seep into the pool after a rain -- but the holes are small and leaves still won't get into your pool. Having those handy little holes, however, makes removing the cover easy to do EVEN AFTER A RAIN. Without the holes, a potentially large amount of water would rest on top of the pool cover and you'd have to be Superman to lift the water-filled cover from off the pool. Intex wisely added the holes to their pool cover for a good reason. As for the rope ties -- who needs them? I live less than two miles away from the ocean and we get a strong ocean breeze even at my house, but the pool cover is large enough to easily fit over the pool and stay put, even without making the rope ties taut. I suppose in a gale storm, the cover might come off -- but in a gale storm, you've got bigger problems to worry over. The pool cover stays on the pool just by draping it over the surface of the pool water. The pool cover keeps debris out of your pool water and helps liquid chlorine to stay in the water longer. If you're worried about evaporating pool water because of those little holes, don't; any evaporation is undetectable. |

| This pool cover was very affordable. Easy to put on, lightweight, and ties to keep out debris. We are on our second cover now, as first one experienced normal wear and tear. |
Great inexpensive cover

After reading the reviews on this cover I was about to pass on this cover. I saw it at my local Meijer for $14.99 and figured even it was more trouble than it's worth I'd just stick it in the basement.
I was pleasantly surprised...one person can put it on/take off, if you pull the strings tight it stays on even in a storm, keeps debris/dirt out and warms the water. Since using one of those splash pool vacuum is awkard, this cover is a definite plus. |
Covers my metal framed 13' Intex pool perfectly!

I had this cover for two seasons and probably would have had it for a third, but the winter weather was unusually rough this year and while it didn't have any rips, it was becoming brittle.
Because my pool isn't the 15' Intex with the inflatable ring (although that was our original pool and it worked great on that too...), I snug it down around the edges of the pool and tie it off to a metal piece on the frame. Because there are three 1' diameter holes in the center, you may find that a cheap blow up ring in the pool will help keep the water off the top of the cover, which makes taking it off a bit of a challenge for one person.
The construction is fine, but it's not a high-end cover. What do you expect for the price? It does its job and is of adequate weight and durability. I will keep buying them and recommending them to friends with similar pools. |

After reading the mixed reviews I still decided to purchase the pool cover and I'm very pleased I did. While others have complained about the holes in the cover. they actually work very well for 2 purposed...
(1) lets water drain from the cover into the pool to allow easier time taking the cover on/off
(2) allows air to escape when putting the pool cover on, so the pool cover is right on top of the water, with plenty of cover over the sides of the pool. The cover is not going anywhere with or without the string tie pulled tightly.
This pool cover is 10x better than the one which shipped with my pool. that was just a plastic, round, thin tarp with a seam which immediately ripped on the first use. This one is well built and should last as long if not longer than the pool itself. |
